Daily Inspiration: 12/01 – Nesty For The Holidays

December 2, 2009

Shoestring Boy and I have big plans for our first Christmas together as legally married hubby and wifey. We are, of course, going to do the traditional dinner with the family at my parents’. Then, we are going to sneak off for a secret weekend just the two of us and do nothing but eat, shop, sleep in beds we don’t have to make. And a new traditional I am hoping to start: an Early Christmas Dinner with friends. 😀

I have inherited my mother’s addiction to hosting dinner parties, and my father’s extrovert personalities. So a party it is! Since I have my full set of my china (all eight settings!) thanks be to my parents extremely generous friends, I can now entertain in style. Or at least with matching plates.

I fully intend on shameless copying this look from napkin to bowl! Okay, not everything but most. I think it is of absolute neccesity now that I have that Marimekko tablecloth. I had been admiring it when I was in the store a week ago but this just sealed the deal. The centerpieces ought to be easily recreatable even for my D-I-Y gimped self. I am so excited I am quivering! Are you? Have you planned anything elaborate for the holidays yet? In Dallas? Give me a shout and you might just get an invitation! Now to pretty up the house before the party!

Ooh, love your China! So simple and elegant! Sadly I don’t have holiday plans with the mister as he is deployed. But I am going to spend lots of time with my family, which is always nice. 🙂

But no plans with the Mr. makes me sad for you. 😦 I love my china too!
