The Boy and The Tuxedo

January 5, 2010

Him: I don’t want a bow tie. Bow ties are hokey

Me: Bow ties are classic. They have been worn forever!

Him: Classic is so over-rated. I am tired of the word classic. I want a tie

Me: A tie is a metaphor for a noose

Him: So it will be appropriate for the occasion then.

In he went to the shop and he decided on this. The Boy who is so sick of the word “classic”, who hates bow ties and wants to wear a noose at his wedding. Someone explain to me the male mind?

He only had to pay for his shoes because he had enough groomsmen getting tuxes to cover his part. The others will be paying $140 approximately. So it pays (literally) to have more groomsmen. On the other hand, there is a lot more gifts and bouts, and stuff to be bought. A toss up really. I would recommend then, picking people not by how much would save you but how much they mean to you in your life and whether or not they are going to be a big part of your life for the forseeable future.

On the other hand, everyone at our wedding apparently is going to look fancier than me.
