I Am So Hawt

January 27, 2010

I briefly contemplated doing a boudoir shoot. Boudoir. What a word. It is like the word ‘fiance’.  Kind of hoity-toity. Kind of I-speak-in-French-because-I-am-better-than-you. Loves it. Why would I get a boudoir shot? Not for Shoestring Boy that is for sure. And putting it on our “art” wall, while amusing in thought would probably not be practical. Talk about narcissism!

I use to run with a bunch of women who hated Victoria’s Secret because it catered to the fantasies of men. What fantasies? Honestly, men dream of black widow teddies in polyester. I am, of course, totally not stereotyping at all.

I buy lingerie slips in pure silk and french lace. Not the kind you rip off and get dirty, thank you very much, keep your paws to yourself tonight. So as you can imagine, I don’t have much practice buying lingerie for men. I have red corset that I wore to a pimps and hos party back in my crazy college years. Good times. Have you ever tried wearing one of those for foreplay? Do you know how hard a corset is to get off when you really want to get off? Maybe that was too much information.

Seriously though, there is some narcissism involved. When I am old and saggy, it would be awesome to have my “boudior” photos to remember “Dayum, I was hawt back in the day”. Yes, I have misplaced bumps but I actually love my body. I don’t think I am actually going to do a “boudoir” shoot. Though it is nice to have a couple of reminders that I am hawt. Here are my favorites:

silk lingerie

pretty matching sets: bra and undies.

4-inch heels

backless dresses

Though can you imagine having your children come across your nakey pictures in the attic hunting for pictures to use in their genealogy school project?

“Ooo… porno. She’s hawt”

“Omg. That’s mom”

Scarred for life.

What do you wear/ do to feel hawt? Are you doing a “boudoir” shot. Don’t worry I won’t make fun of you like ESB. I am nicer than her. Barely. But still.

Haha the scenario of the children in the attic actually reminds me of my only experience with boudoir photos.
Much to the Mr.’s mortification, my future parent’s in law have a photo on their bedroom wall of my future MIL posed in a cheetah print babydoll with my future FIL’s favorite guitar next to her. Seeing that was enough to scare me away from boudoir photos forever…

Hahaha! I would not want my kids to dig up a photo like that of me and say, “OMG, that’s mom!” Good if the photo would be strictly for my hubby’s eyes only…but then, no, it’ll have to pass the eyes of the photographer, the photo developer, etc., etc. That would be way too embarrassing to the conservative little me.
